History of the Crocs

1997

Another team joined DAFL, Århus form Jutland, came, struggled and stayed (the trips to Århus have been a great success ever since). This year we were building the team. We had lots of new players, and managed to keep most of the old players too. The most noticeable new player was without a doubt the hyper-active American Bailey Clark. Like Obelix, the guy surely fell in the pot as a baby, only this pot was filled with speed. He quickly earned the nickname "the Tasmanian devil". Bailey was later awarded "best new player" at the DAFL Best and Fairest. We finished third in the regular season and were to play the Cudas in their first Finals appearance since their Premiership in 1992. The Cudas put up a good fight, but never had a chance, we won 12 15 (87) - 11 17 (83). In the Preliminary Final, we were to meet the reigning Premiers Farum. In a game with no equal we drew 13 6 (84) - 12 12 (84) and the lost in overtime 15 6 (96) - 15 14 (104).

During our Best and Fairest evening it was revealed that long time club members Stephen McKay and Martin Aynge were awarded lifetime membership of the club.

Pick One of the following years for more information about the piticular season.
